Those who know me, know of my obession with all things Hawaiian. Here is an interesting site that I visit at least once a week to see what is happening with the CURRENT ERUPTION. of Kilauea. It is so amazing to watch the transformation.
Here is an image of the East Lae`apuki lava delta on November 1, 2005.
Here it is after it broke off and fell into the ocean on December 2, 2005.
And here it is on July 14, 2006. Amazing that it has come to about it's original size in 6 months. It is now 60 acres!

to-may-to or to-mah-to?
Despite the heat today, I ventured out to the farmer's market at Union square. I could not resist picking up these heirloom tomatoes. They were super sweet... not to mention beautiful. I ate most of them one by one... like candy. Somehow that just says SUMMER.

A friend discovered these adorable blackbird clothes pins by a company called Banal Extra while in London. Also really cool is the giant pencil cup clothes stand.
Whatcha Mean, What's a Zine?
Our super talented friend Peter Hamlin contributed to this new book, Whatcha Mean, What's a Zine? The authors Mark Todd and Esther Watson have excellent taste so it's packed with wonderful illustrations and useful info too!
YOU CALL IT CORN, WE CALL IT MONEY.
I discovered this old sign painted on the side of a builing in lower Manhattan about 2 years ago. I never had my camera with me to document it, but I made a special trip over to see it on my lunch hour the other day.
I am attracted to this sign because of the name CORN. When I was very little, my aunt's decided to call me Corn instead of Conn. Anyway I did a little research and found this out about The Corn Exchange Bank.

Alvin Lustig: Modern Design Pioneer
This is a great site about one of my all time favorite designers Alvin Lustig. His work takes me to a very happy place. Nice website too.
MUSHROOMS FOR RENT...
On a recent trip to Kerhonkson, New York, I spent and entire day photographing various mushrooms - all from a mouse's eye view. Everythhing looks cuter from that angle. I was surprised at how many varieties I came across and how small they were.
Some were about 1/2" tall and the biggest was about 3" tall. I was praying that I would come across one with a small toad sitting under it. No luck.
All She Wants To Do Is Dance!
Conn doesn't think she's awesome. I think she's amazing. What do you think? I mean look at her! She's totally into it.
Thanks Chris!
